AVG virus software is Free version software..
AVG has poor detection rates. The free version does not come with the ewido engine that is part of the pro version. it doesn't shape up well against other free products, and should be avoided if you want to the best protection for your machine. Antivir is the best free one I know of. Don't take my word for any of this though, what Im telling you is not based on personal opinion. check out the comparisons here

Avg has free antivirus that is better than norton cause norton hogs you ram. It also takes like 5 times before getting rid of the virus on norton.
Avg Free is available freely on net you have to upgrade it weekly so that no new viruses should enter your pc, better you go AVG free - Or AVIRA ANTIVIRUS - Many AV's comes free with mother board CDS - like NORTON Etc.You can also try if you get it from your friends.
