How good is Avast AVG and Bitdefender Free anti virus softwares?

I ecently have come to know that the AVG, AVAST and Bitdefender allow downloading of Home edition softwares for free... How good are they? Is anybody using them? How does it rate against the commercial versions of Norton, Trend etc. Do u suggest that i go ahead with the free antiviruses?

i find best in between all is AVG

my basis is on resource requirements, virus dectiontion,recovery

and most worst is Trend

if u really looking for free virus scanner then why don't u go use AntiVir a free award wining , small download ,less resource hungry software.

I use home version of Avast on all three computers and don't have any problem with it...
i have avg vrus protection i downloaded a 30 day trial version to try it and i liked so i bought 2 yrs of protection for less than $40 at this website www.grisoft.com
BitDefender Free has no real time protection. Avast and AVG do. However both AVG and Avast have very poor virus detection rates. In tests they constantly miss about 10% of all viruses.

I would check out the free version of AntiVir.
i use bitdefender 9 and it is one of the best, much better than avg and avast, it updates nearly every hour and catches almost everything, it has been rated as one of the best on many sites.
to speak frankly I`ve never heard about AVG and AVAST.I use Bitdefender Professional v.7 and I`m very satisfied.U should visit www.softwin.ro and www.bitdefender.ro
I don't use them myself, though I believe they're OK. But using a free anti virus has to be better than using none...wouldn't you think?
