http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 AVG is a free anti virus program. (It will eventually tell you you need to buy it to continue using, but this is false, all you need to do is download the newer free version)

Ad-Aware is good anti spyware, and free. search for it at download.com
Both avast and AVG offer good virus protection for free. Just type either into your search bar and you should pull up their home sites. Download, install, and you are ready to go.

For the spyware, I don't know if avast has a good spyware protector but I know AVG does. Hope this helps.
