What's the best anti spy/spam/virus software to use?

I hear arguments about Norton and other programs, and I'm not sure which to buy now.

Norton is horrible, in my opinion any anti virus you have to pay for isn't worth it and hogs computer resources (CPU, RAM ect) I use Avast Home Edition and I love it. It's free and I'm virus free.

If you buy a really good anti-virus program, such as NOD32 or Kaspersky, it will take care of most malware, including spyware.

If you're using Outlook/OE, MailWasher free is a great anti-spam program. If you're using Yahoo, etc, you don't need an additional spam blocker.

If you are going to buy an anti virus, i would highly reccomend, CA antivirus sweet, for many reasons such as that it does not expire. If you purchase norton, you find your self having to spend more and more money on upgrades and such. You also have to renew your subscription over a 2 or 3 year time span. Also AVG is an excellent antivirus, anti spyware, and firewall set up.
