In your opinion what is the best anti virus/internet security software available?

whether it is free or one you have to pay for. i also tend to buy a lot of thing over the internet so would be good if it protects my information

was just wondering as am currently running a program (wont say which one) and i am getting pop ups and advertisements so wish to try a new one.

it is the latest version of the program by the way so it hasnt got any excuses.

The best Anti-Virus is Kaspersky (there are hourly updates !).

The best Anti-Virus for free is Avira AntiVir.

Avoid avast! because it's the worst Anti-Virus I've never seen !!!

On the other hand do you need one? You have firewalls on the router and on your pc/laptop.

Don't go onto "dodgy" sites (porn?) and if you do have the misfortune to get a virus, have the machine readily prepared to do a clean %26 reload (ie keep all your data in one place).

Use AVG Free edition, it's arguably the best antivirus software about, and it's completely free.
