Have recently downloaded Norton anti virus/firewall software on line. Cannot use much of my system n

After Norton 2007 download I am now viewed as a 'visitor' by my HP system and cannot open my documents, or use several of my broadband services. Another example is that I have no influence over 'my accounts' etc...( using Windows XP). Have tried 're-booting' and turning off pop-up control, but no success. Someone please help!

Have you tried booting in Safe Mode, logging in to an admin account and seeing what you can do from there?

And did you download from the official Norton site? If you've paid for the software then you're entitled to support!

Norton can be a pain in the **** sometimes! It did the same to me! In the end i just had to turn it off so i could use my programs, which defeats the object. Grrrr
Check to see if the XP firewall is active there may be a clash
Norton seems to do strange things............... I recently got Talk Talk free broadband and it almost stopped my computer working, had to remove Norton and use another product to get the computer to work correctly again. I don't know why.
simple answer remove from your system then download from your search engine avg free edition 10 times better than norton without the restrictions
Go Start%26gt;Run and type msconfig and hit OK.
