nothing is ever the best alone, there are some commercial softwares that are "all arounders" which are bulky and have to pay for it. The reason why all arounders are not good is because they use too much resources than 4 programs doing their task together. When I used Norton or Mcafee, my computer lagged so severely that I went nuts. Then i started to try new programs that are free and surprisingly, those programs all together don't lag as much as one big program.

i use: Comodo firewall 3(with defense+ disabled), avg free(backup antivirus), avira antivira(main antivirus and is extremely powerful but make sure you configure the settings to everything high except the scan priority to low because of scanning lags), spybot search and destroy(spyware killer, but needs to be manually updated and immunized every week, which isnt a problem)
