I'd like something that detects well, but doesn't slow my computer down too much.
I noticed yesterday that somehow all of a sudden my laptop had a "keystroke logger" program installed and running! It had all of my accounts and passwords logged and I certainly want to avoid that from ever happening again.
So I'd like to get something I can install on my family's laptops and desktops that's effective and, like I said, doesn't slow the computer down too badly.
Any suggestions?

actually, spy bot just detects spyware which is nothing much to worry about.
If I were you I'd get norton, it's free for 6 month here

some people say it's a bit heavy but I run it on pentium II machines with no probs, it depends if your drive is huge and has no partition for the OS, then it slows as soon as you load ANY files into it.

I know a few good ones but I personaly beleive that Xoftspyse is the best one out there. It has major protection and has a small price tag. To find a non biased review check out: http://killmyspyware.com/xoftspyse-revie... Hopefully this will help you as much as it helped me.
I highly recommend Panda Internet Security Suite. I tested it against Norton and McAfee and it was the only one that was able to detect malware alarm as well as a defragmentation attack on my system.
