im a norton fan but i had to use avg as norton couldnt detect a virus that hackers were using
The answer is a resounding yes! It's the one I use. It updates itself daily. I have it set to do a full scan every morning. You will find over time what a smart choice you have made. It is one of the best ones out there. And it is free. Congratulations! - C!
It's probably one of the better free anti virus's and arguabely the best. But it's not the best anti virus around. However while it's true that you get what you pay for, AVG is more than good enough for a free anti virus and I use it myself.
AVG is good cause it's free and it works.
norton is too bloated and hogs the cpu if you have an older machine..

hopefully you installed a firewall also, get zone alarm free if you didn't..

better solution to add a router with a firewall as well.. so you have a hardware + software firewall
