I thought that my computer had anti virus software installed but I can't find it anywhere in here! Where can I find out for sure so that I can download a new one- I am having some problems with speed and freezing/shutting down.

Check C:Program Files
and search for a file that contains an anti virus program you thought was installed..
inside that anti virus programs file open the executable file and that wil lstart the program (if its there if not, download spybot search and destroy for free..it's an excellent peice of software.

First...go to Start then click Search(one with a magnifying glass)...type in there the name of ur anti - virus software...then if it really is not seen...just install another one...

go to search in your computer, type the name of that antivirus. or go to control panel - add/remove programs.
go to download.com, and download avast antivirus, then install it, after you install it, let it do it's boot scan, then download, the updates, and then scan again.
Also, it is free, won't cost you the 40 to 60 dollars the other av's do, and it works better than all the rest, .
try an online scanner like Trend Micro
