How can I disable 2007 norton anti virus?

I'm tryin to play Battlefield 2 and it said I need to disable the anti virus software. I already turned off everything but can't seem to find where I can disable the whole thing. I've done it before with other anti virus but this 2007 one is hard to find.

Right click on my computer | manage | + next to services and applications | highlight services | scroll down to where the norton services are | right click on each | chang to manual and stop

You can then turn them back after you're done.

why would a game tell you to disable anti-virus software? why would it matter if it was on or off. i personally would not play the game. and you shouldnt turn off everything. what if you want to go on the internet and you forget to turn everything back on? you will get a virus and you would lose you computer
Ok the best way to do that is to go to START / RUN then type MSCONFIG then choose startup box and uncheck all norton items then go to service box and do the same uncheck them and restart ur computer , if u want it back do the same and check these items ,,, if that worked out , i'll be waiting for the 10 points lol
Uninstall Norton (it's junk) and switch to AVG. AVG is so much less demanding for system resources that it won't interfere with your gaming.
at the top of the screen on the toolbar, there is a NAV icon, click on the arrow and click disable.
