right now I have only cut off the Anti-virus protection from verizon leaving on the popup-blocker, spyware and e-mail protection. I heard that you can not run two anti-virus software at the same time.I downloaded AVG free last weekend.
Has anyone got a virus using AVG free software and do you have to shut down your Verizon protection completelyvirus protection software
AVG is a good program, but I don't have experience with it, but it's top rated. Other then that, DO NOT RUN TWO AV's at the same time!! The AV's will conflict with each other, causing the virus scanning to be not as through, slow computer performance and errors.
Yes, some people do have more then one on their computer and say they have no problems...they're just been naive. Trust me when I say that two AV's on the computer running at the same time is a time bomb waitng to explode.

AVG is a very good free antivirus prgram. I use it and haven't had any viruses. And don't do the Format c: like Slump said unless you want to wipe out your computer! Norton 2005 is a memory hog and I don't recommend it for anyone. It is ok to run 2 Antivrus programs. Below is a link to Pcworld.com. It is a list of free antivirus programs.
You can run as many as you want, but you will pay a performance price for it. I wouldn't recommend using two different AV products at once though.
Format C: and install Norton 2005 ... if you still want a free antivirus, Format C and installa Norton 2005 cracked version ;)
