What is the best Anti-Virus to have?

I would like some opinions of the best Anti-Virus software. I have tired Norton but I had not had any luck. I always ended up reformating my computer because Norton wasnt catching Viruses like it was suppose to. Heck this free one I downloaded works better then Norton. But its time to go buy one now...any suggestions? Thank you all that answer.
