How many anti virus program should i install in my windows xp sp2 to be virus free?

with so many anti-virus software available to protect pc's from such viruses, trojans, adwarem, spyware.,etc should i add more if i have avast anti-virus and avira antivir personal edition? I also have advance windows care v2 personal in my pc aside from Windows XP SP2 system tools.

Only install one anti virus program, any more than that and they are both likely to see each other as a threat and that would seriously compromise your protection.

You can always run an online check with another program just as an additional safety net
